Chips or Tea? Tea or Chips?

These are two of my favourite things, I indulge on both far too much!
When I received my email update from Juxtapoz there was a pleasant post about sculpture artist Marcus Fiedler who has created realistic wax sculptures of everyday objects from a teabag, to a bass guitar and an amp. I love the french fries and the tea bag...no easy task im sure.

"Mr. Blues," as he was not-so-humbly known, joyously related risque tales of sex, booze, and endless parties in his trademark raspy voice over some of the jumpingest horn-powered combos of the postwar era. Unfortunately I couldn't find a clip of my favourite song, 'I Like My Baby's Pudding', but this is a treat for you too.

Winnie Truong

Her works are rather limited but Winnie definitely creates some amazing pencils drawings of just hair. The titles of her work are another clever addition.

“ 'Bird Rib' questions the effect that the "digitalization" is taking in the panorama view, re-marking the boundaries of the relationship between nature and technological progress. The world I created is crossed by a paradoxical form of mixing between the natural and technological artifice, and oscillates between a descriptive real and abstract imagines. In Bongiovanni's paintings there is a form of anxiety that lies behind the ambience and serenity of a seemingly healthy and unspoiled nature. This nature is far from the “human” eyes because it is polluted by core technology that scans and encodes the representations itself.
The anguished vision of birds burdened and forced to dragged down by a "cast" of colour, which he imaginez as a real "tear of nature" crystallized into an icy perfectionism of colour, is a symbol of humiliation for us men and progressive inability to recover in an authentic relationship with the nature itself, now reduced to a land of conquest and exploitation."

P-p-pick up a bargin

Vivitar 35EE - £3.00 from The Rabbit Run Car Boot Sale, West Midlands
I love rummaging at carboot sales, you may have seen my collection of hand-tinted postcards I posted not long ago, and now I have picked up this 35mm. It's quite similar asthetically to the Olympus Trip 35 I own and love. I hope I enjoy it as much as I have the Olympus.
The Vivitar 35EE is a 35mm rangefinder camera with automatic exposure, rebadged to Vivitar specifications from the Cosina Cosina 35 in the mid-1970s. 
  • Lens: 38mm f/2.8 (4 elements, 3 groups) with 46mm filter thread.
  • Focusing Range: 0.9m to infinity.
  • Auto-exposure via CdS "electric eye" above lens.
  • Shutter speeds: 1/30-1/650s, plus B (only at f/2.8).
  • Film speed: ISO 25-400.
  • Viewfinder info: Brightline frame, parallax correction marks, overexposure and underexposure warning zones, with indicated approximate combined shutter speed and aperture (f/2.8 to f/14) selection shown by needle.

“This is not going to be Six Feet Under” – Alan Ball


"A closed-mouthed catfish and cheery gator serve as an aquatic admission into a place that suffers the rot of intolerance and blackish baptisms. Stick shacks sulk under Spanish moss. Jace Everett’s song “Bad Things” plucks and coos over the risque and the religious imagery of Alan Ball’s title sequence for “True Blood” contextualizing the slutty and the sweet swamp-goth vampiric mise-en-scène.

twenty one point five inches of fun

I have not any excuse as to why I haven't blogged in so long apart from that I have been 'holidaying' and gardening and spending summer relaxing before the dreaded final year of my degree!
I have been doing some creative work for you though, a new book, I've got through heaps of 35mm, the website is progressing AND I shall soon be the owner of one of these lovely 21.5" friends!
