I love 'people watching'

Everything seems better when the sun shines, including photographs.

A few to get the inspirational juices oozing

Small Feet, Little Legs, Round Belly, Big Boobies, Massive Mouth

My mother is a crazy lady.
She does my nut in when she won't stop call me with unnecessary information I do not need to know.

Today's Post

You should check out itsnicethat. I love the site and today there was a great post on Craig Oldham. ("Highly motivated. Hard working. Retired football player. Book addict. Prince fan. Blonde hair. Tall-ish. Graphic Designer. Type Geek (or so I'm told)".)
He recently completed his project 10 Penneth which is an accompaniment to a lecture series that he has given to students of Graphic Design. He aims to encourage students to success....It's what I need!

Snap On

It's from the same people that told us to 'Keep Calm & Carry On'.
Nazi invasion isn't one of my fears, but creative block is so I've bagged myself one of these lovely prints!

Noob Music: LOGO

Music Channel

A new project I am working on is to create a new music channel. I am collaborating with designer Jack Haslehurst. we both have very different approaches to design so I'm excited to see the outcome!

The channel can take two forms: either a Live music channel, which will offer viewers the chance to watch their favourite bands live. But not any live performance! We believe that the live experience is about getting in the crowd, appreciating the lighting effects, but also having the chance to meet the band. We will offer the 3D live experience! Interviews, shows, competitions & Venues will all be included.

Alternatively, we will create a music channel which offers the best of the classic video games soundtracks. You may think this is only for the nerds amongst you, but trust us.....THIS STUFF IS ADDICTIVE! The channel includes live games, music from your favourite games, a chance to get your messages in and even music from giant orchestras!

We will be designing the brand identity for the channel, here are a few logo and identity designs so far:

tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

My first animation. A success and a pleasure working with the team I did.
The concept behind this short animation is that the book of knowledge is what enables growth to take place, it gives knowledge and information. From this knowledge you grow wiser and also you grow literally over time. The tree grows from the pages of the book, then a new book of knowledge grows on that tree, which produces a loop in the animation. Similarly to a circle of life and new beginning.
This is a preview of the animation, there are still editions to be made.

Inspirational Clips

I am producing a typographic motion graphic, containing a clip of spoken word which I am or have been inspired by and want to share with others. Here are 3 possible clips which I may use.

This is a short film by Deborah Anzalone who came to give a lecture at my university in October. Deborah's enthusiasm and passion that went into her work was so inspirational to me, her devotion, drive and inspiration encouraged me to continue to do what I enjoy my work and be open minded.
This film is beautiful. everythin' aint gonna be right, everything will become right when I'm dancin'

An extract of Erik Spiekermann from the documentary film 'Helvetica' by Gary Hustwit. (See 1:46 into the clip for speech extract)

This is a clip where Bill Murray talks about new technology. "People have hands...Watches should have hands."
